My heart was feeling restless today. And I knew I wasn’t likely to get what I needed sitting in a pew this afternoon, so after Sabbath School, I headed homeward, and on my way, I see the library. It called to me. I have not leisurely browsed library stacks in years. It immediately has brought me back to the days when the world held such wonder and possibilities for me. I think libraries totally embody a sense of hope for me. All the knowledge and wisdom available, it’s a sense of the past, present, and future all rolled up into one place. And today, I don’t have anywhere to be! I can sit down and enjoy some reading and leave it here. This is rest for my soul right now, thank you, Jesus, for libraries!
